We discussed the concept of climate justice recognises climate crisis and inequality as two sides of the same coin. These two issues are inseparable, and they are present throughout all of the 17 goals. Responsible production and consumption relies upon circular systems, but how can we cultivate an equitable circle of humanity? Recent years have seen widening gaps in inequality, accelerating climate breakdown. Guaranteeing the right to freedom of choice and decent livelihoods for every person is a way of defending the future. How do we build strong foundations for global solidarity among people?

Past generations have been radical, and perhaps naïve in their actions. Youth of today however, are under no illusions about the challenges we face, and this perspective comes with some fear of the future. This burden on young minds comes through no fault of their own, and we must cooperate to shift mindsets and foster hope. How should decision makers, brands and others act to build trust, loyalty and action among their audiences? What can we learn from each other across generations and sectors? And how do we support youthful creativity in balance with a level-headed awareness of the risks ahead of us?

COLLECTIVE & CREATIVE ACTIVISM IN ACTION

Moderator:
Lisa Lindström, CEO at EY Doberman
Panelists:
Sahara Widoff, Creative Lead at HEART 17
Anna Ryott, Founder HEART 17

With the art piece "The Human Interest", HEART 17 wishes to spark the notion of that a collective inspiring effort is both possible and needed for humans in today’s world. The virtuous circle between hope and action is clear. Youth leader actions and artists engagement are key to inspire more to join the plan. Hope is the asset we all need to cherish to make a difference for ourselves and others.

Simultaneously, the IPCC report, as shared by the scientists, is the starkest reminder of why. Looking purely at the data presented, it is easy to feel despair. HEART 17's mission with this film is to inspire hope and creative action.

Thank you for being part of the movement of hope.
