AI helps save forests

Knowledge is power and calculating how much carbon a forest is capturing, is usually a labor-intensive process. By using an AI tool to analyzing satellite imagery of forests, Pachama (named after the Mother Earth goddess for the indigenous people of South America), can predict the amount of carbon a forest is capturing, with up to 90% accuracy compared to traditional models.

As a result, there is more data to bring clarity to which initiatives are making a real difference when it comes to protecting our ecosystems. That means that we will have the ability to optimize our efforts in saving our forests.
