No more fish in the sea

Today overfishing is a big problem - the global supply of fish simply cannot match the demand in a sustainable way. Pollution is another challenge: microplastics, heavy metals and other toxins in our fish mean that fresh meat, caught and raised in rivers and sea can cause health issues.⁠

So what if we could still enjoy this delicious food - but without environmental and health concerns? Hong Kong based startup Avant Meat is growing complete fish fillets in its lab, claiming to have found a way that is cleaner, safer, more efficient, more sustainable and provides better quality meat compared to conventional industrial fishing methods. ⁠
